Mount Elgon
Mount Elgon is an extinct volcano that scientists estimate is about 24 million years old. It is located in the east of the country, on the border with Kenya, surrounded by the eponymous national park. The national park territory is in both countries, as Mount Elgon has five peaks, two of which are in Kenya and three in Uganda, among others, the highest Wagagai (4321 meters high). Numerous visitors come every year to admire the untouched nature, to try their hand at climbing to the top of Wagagai, and to take with them many fantastic photos of beautiful scenes.
