Zomba Plateau is located in the southern part of the country, tucked between Lake Chilwe, the Shire River, and Liwonde National Park. The plateau rises 1800 meters above sea level, with the highest peak at 2087 meters. On the surface of the plateau is a protected area of the Zomba Nature Reserve. The main attractions for visitors are Mandala Falls, Williams Falls, Emperor's View, and Queen's View.
