Shouf Biosphere Reserve
The Shouf Biosphere Reserve's location is southeast of the capital Beirut. The highlight of this reserve is the national tree, the Cedrus libani forest. Besides, over 500 species of plants, 37 species of animals, and 200 species of birds have found a home here, so the reserve is on the list of Important Bird Area (IBA). Endemic species can be found here, and the Shouf is an important point on migratory routes for birds. Previous visitors say: bring a spare battery and extra memory for the camera because there is a lot to see and photograph here.
