Hősök Tere or Heroes' Square was built as part of the celebration of the millennial anniversary of Hungarian statehood in 1896. Monument Millennium Memorial dominates the square. Imposing statues of mythical, symbolic, and historical figures face the plateau. There are two buildings next to the square: the Hall of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts. Below the square is an artesian well that supplies water to the Széchenyi Baths and Dagály Baths. The view that the Monument is reminiscent of the long tradition of Hungarian heroes.
