Vatican Museums
The Vatican Museums are a treasury of countless works of art, some paintings, and sculptures, some other rarities, of inestimable artistic and religious significance. It was founded during the reign of Pope Julius II, who was elected pope in 1503. He moved his collection, which contained his private works, as well as the artworks of renowned artists, to the Octagon Court. That is considered to be the beginning of the Vatican Museums.
