Mustakillik Square
Mustakillik Square (Independence Square), also known as Martyrs Square, is dedicated to all victims of Tsarist and Soviet colonialism. This memorial complex was named Mustakillik Square in 1999. Before that, it was called Lenin Square. A museum with elements of traditional Uzbek architecture was built next to Mustakillik Square, showing exhibits about victims of repression. In the central part of the square, there is a memorial park that contains several fountains and pools.
