Fann Mountains
The Fann Mountains is a mountain range located about 90 kilometers northwest of Dushanbe. The highest mountain peak is Chimtarga Peak, 5489 meters high. In this area, you can find several mountain peaks that have an altitude that exceeds 5000 meters with numerous lakes, fast mountain rivers, and streams. Mountain trails that follow winding streams or valleys lead to several scattered villages where people live off livestock. The best time of year to visit is from June to mid-September, and if you want to hike, come in July and August, because then the weather is the most stable and most beautiful. If the road takes you to meet the locals, you will be pleasantly surprised by the hospitality.
