Hayashi Department Store
The Hayashi Department Store opened in 1932, is currently the oldest department store in Taiwan and it is known to the Tainan people as “The-Five-Stories-House.” The Hayashi Department Store still preserves the elements of its history during the Japanese Colonial Era as exhibitions, such as the original floor tiles on certain levels, or the ruins of the rooftop Shinto Shrine.
