Pigeon Island is a peninsula located north of Rodney Bay, which was once an island. Namely, when the lagoon was made in Rodney Bay, where the marina is located, the excavated material was used to connect Pigeon Island by land. This project enabled better access to this part of the country, which visitors gladly accepted and used to visit this natural lookout point, which was of great strategic importance in the past. There were fortresses from which the British spied on French ships sailing to and from the island of Martinique. Today, this peninsula is the stage for the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival.
