Gros Piton is one of two volcanic plugs located along the very southwest coast of the island of St Lucia. Many consider this geological formation to be a symbol of St Lucia. Its height is 798 meters and is the second-highest mountain peak on the island, after Mount Gimie. Gros Piton is less difficult to climb because its sides are less steep, so you don't need equipment or any great skill. You can arrange a guide service through your resort. The guides are trained by the state to have basic knowledge in providing first aid. One should not miss seeing the panorama from the top of Gros Piton because you can see almost the whole island and several neighboring islands.
