Ostrog Monastery is located 50 km from Podgorica, Montenegro capital. Dedicated to Saint Basil of Ostrog, this monastery is a pilgrimage spot for Orthodox Christians, attracting over 100,000 visitors a year. Carved against an almost vertical background, this amazing 17th-century monastery was almost completely destroyed in the early 20th century in a massive fire and reconstructed to today's appearance, with the lower and upper part of the complex. You can find a natural spring behind the monastery, providing refreshing water.
