Hagar Qim Temple is a megalithic structure dating from 3600-3200 BC and was excavated first in 1839 but scientists knew about this temple before. Stones weight up to seven tons. From an aerial view, this complex is in the shape of a paw. This archeological site has been under the protection of UNESCO since 1980, as it has been recognized as a World Heritage Site. In a distance of 500 meters of this site is Mnajdra Temple, also megalithic structure.
