Mekong River

The Mekong River is one of the longest rivers in Asia and the twelfth longest in the world. However, the basin of this river is the second in biodiversity in the world, right after the Amazon. Over 20,000 plant species, 850 freshwater fish species, 1,200 birds, and 430 mammal species have found a home in the area. Along the Mekong River, you will come across a sapphire mine, a lot of jungle, you will see working Asian elephants, but also an elephant shelter, small fishing villages, big cities. You will see an Asia slideshow that you cannot see anywhere else.
