Shymbulak

Shymbulak is the largest ski resort in Central Asia. It was discovered by accident, by amateur skiers in the 1940s. Since then, it has been used as a training ground for Olympic athletes of the Soviet Union. The base is located at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level, and the top is at 3200 meters. Here you can find the best ski trails in this part of the world. Almaty is the nearest major city, and much of the tourism of this city is tied to Shymbulak. Visitors gladly return to this resort because of the beautiful nature and fantastic trails for winter sports.
