Rann of Kutch

Rann of Kutch is one of the largest salt desert located in the western Indian city of Gujarat. Originally inhabited by the Kutchi people, this area is famous for the widely used embroidery work - the Kutch work. In order to promote tourism in this region, the famous Rann Utsav is celebrated by the Government of Gujarat during the winter seasons. The Utsav (festival) draws a large number of tourists from both India and abroad. Tourists can stay in specially built tent houses and relish the local delicacies.
