Levuka, the former capital of Fiji, is located on the east coast of the island of Ovalau. Here are many things started in Fiji - First School, First Post Office, First Bank, and so on. However, in 1882, Suva was declared the capital, because Levuka had no room to spread since it is surrounded by mountains and rocks, some of which are up to 600 meters high. Since 2013 this city is included in the UNESCO list.
