Soomaa National Park is located between Pärnu and Viljandi County in southwestern Estonia. It consists of a wetland ecosystem, bogs, forests, floodplains, and grasslands. The population is very small, less than 100 per 390 square kilometers as much as the park occupies. In addition to nature protection, a significant effort is being made in this park to preserve the cultural heritage of the people who live here. Beaver watching, which can be done by canoe, hiking and snowshoe hiking are popular activities among visitors.
