Fil Fil is a national park in Eritrea, located 33 kilometers northeast of the capital Asmara. This is the northernmost rainforest in Africa, and it lies from 700 to 2000 meters above sea level. It is one of the rare forests in Eritrea, because of serious deforestation in previous decades. There is a wide biodiversity of flora and fauna in the park. Even one abandoned tank is left by one of the tracks! The number of bird species makes the park especially popular among ornithologists.
