Located in the city of Larnaca, on the south coast of Cyprus, the Church of Saint Lazarus is a true attraction for Christian visitors. According to tradition, Saint Lazarus was buried in this place, after his second death (after his first death, Jesus Christ resurrected him). The church dates back to the late 9th or early 10th century. St. Lazarus relics were brought to Constantinople in 898, but human remains were found in a marble sarcophagus under the altar during the renovation of the church after the fire in 1970, which is believed to be part of the remains of St. Lazarus.
