Rano Raraku

Rano Raraku is located in the eastern part of Easter Island. This crater, which is now partially filled with water, used to be a quarry. About 95% of the moai on the island were carved and transported from here. Unfinished moai were found in the quarry. Some of the unfinished pieces are too enthusiastic because they are too big for transport. Some of them are estimated to have around 270 tons!
