Casapueblo

Casapueblo is an unusual abstract building located about 7 kilometers west of the city of Maldonado. This complex was built to serve as the summer residence and working space of its creator, the artist Carlos Páez Vilaró. Casapueblo features an art gallery, museum, hotel, and coffee shop. Visitors who visited this miraculous building compared it to the Greek island of Santorini, with a labyrinth, and the creator himself called it a "Sculpture in which it is possible to live". Interestingly, the entire complex was built without any blueprints, and it took the architect about a month to make a plan for the finished Casapueblo.
