The Bahamas, or officially the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, is an island nation in the Lucayan Archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. About 700 islands, islets, and about 2,400 cays make up the Bahamas located north of Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic, southeast of the State of Florida, and east of the Florida Keys. About 6 million tourists visit the Bahamas annually, of which about 70 percent are visitors from overseas cruisers. In the Bahamas, fine sandy beaches, beautiful blue shades of the ocean, tropical greenery, and beautifully landscaped gardens alternate, giving the opportunity for every visitor to find heaven for themselves. Temperatures are ideal for a holiday at the seaside for most of the year, and the residents know very well how to entertain and please visitors.
