Formosa Boulevard Station
The world's largest public art installation is situated at the Kaohsiung MRT transfer station and it is named the Dome of Light. This beautiful piece of art was created by renowned artist Narcissus Quagliata. The dome is made from individual pieces of colored glass and tells the story of human life in four chronologically arranged themes: Water: The Womb of Life; Earth: Prosperity and Growth; Light: The Creative Spirit; Fire: Destruction and Rebirth. It carries an overall message of love and tolerance. Besides adding to the beauty of the station, the work also adds a new dimension to the art life of the Kaohsiung.
