Skansen is an open-air museum located on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm. It is the oldest open-air museum in the world, opened in 1891, showing life in different parts of Sweden before the industrial revolution in the 19th century. Skansen contains various craft shops in which masters dressed in clothes from that period make shoes, glass objects, silver, and leather objects. The museum also has a small zoo that contains animals from the Scandinavian peninsula. Annually, this museum is visited by over 1.3 million visitors.
