Retba Lake

Due to a large amount of salt content, unique species of algae and special kind of bacteria, Retba Lake is known for its pink waters. One of the most remarkable sites in Senegal, Retba is also a place of salt harvesting since 1970. Lake is under consideration by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
