Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary

Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary is a home of almost 400 species of birds and the most visible are pelicans and flamingos. The sanctuary was among first in Senegal to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A large lake is surrounded by streams, ponds, and backwaters, allowing visitors to see a number of wild animals as well, besides birds.
