Alofaaga Blowholes are located on the south coast of Savai'i Island, and the result is lava tubes through which the waves make geysers several tens of meters high! A special attraction is when the locals put a coconut in the hole, and the water blows it up like a cannonball. The sound is similar to thunder or cannon so it may be too loud for some visitors. No matter how close the locals approach the geyser, visitors should keep their distance for their safety. Accidents have happened in the past, and the strength of the ocean waves is unquestionable.
