A guilty pleasure for history buffs, the Old Church Ruins was once a beautiful Spanish church in Catarman. In 1870, Mount Vulcan erupted, and only the walls of the church, the bell tower and the convent beside the site stood the eruption. Centuries after the tragic event that left an aching part of Camiguin’s history, the place became a beautiful historical landmark. Truly, there’s a beauty beyond the devastation.
