Wahiba Sands

Nowadays called Sharqiya Sands, the desert was named by Bani Wahiba tribe. The Wahiba Sands occupies the eastern part of Hajar mountains. About 2-hour drive from Muscat, this area is popular for hiking, 4x4 drive, and especially for spending the night in the desert, because of almost zero light pollution. That means that visitors can see stars sky like nowhere else!
