Skeleton Coast is located in the northern part of Namibia's Atlantic coast. This truly unique, hostile but spectacular area initially got its name from the numerous stranded whales that lost their lives in these waters, and the current brought their skeletons to the coast. In modern times, many shipwrecks joined the area, justifying its name. This harsh environment however houses an abundance of wildlife such as elephants, rhinos, desert lions, giraffes, seals, and many more.
