Mingun Pahtodawgyi

Mingun Pahtodawgyi represents an incomplete monument, which construction started in 1790 by King Bodawpaya and was intentionally left unfinished. Although the king used slaves and prisoners of war for its building, there was a prophecy and a king's superstition that the king would die as soon as the pagoda will be finished. Today Mingun Pahtodawgyi represents an attraction and a photogenic spot for Myanmar visitors.
