Bagaya Monastery

Bagaya Monastery is a magnificent monastery located near the city of Inwa in central Myanmar. Firstly built in the late 16th century, the monastery was almost completely destroyed in a devastating fire in 1821, together with many important buildings. The government started reconstruction in 1992, making the new Bagaya Monastery based on the model of the old monastery.
