Bazaruto Archipelago National Marine Park was formed in 1971, on all six islands that make up the Bazaruto Archipelago and the waters surrounding them in Sofala Bay. These islands are home to many plants and animals, including dolphins, pink flamingos, hippos, dugongs, sea turtles. The population of about 3.500 people that also habitats islands are mostly engaged in small-scale fishing using traditional vessels, dhows, so visitors are also offered dhow-safari island tours.
