Old Orhei or Orheiul Vechi is an archeological complex located about 50 kilometers north of Chisinau on the bend of the river Răut in the village of Butuceni. This site contains traces of several groups of people who inhabited it, from the Trypillians, Dacians, Golden Horde, Tatars, all the way to the Moldavians in the time of Stefan cel Mare. There are two museums in the village of Butuceni - the ethnographic museum and the Orheiul Vechi Exhibition Center. The visitors stand out Cave Monastery as the main attraction of the archeological complex.
