Milestii Mici
Milestii Mici is a village located in the Ialoveni District in the southeastern part of the country. Two things characterize this place: whitestone, which the local population has been exploiting under the village for centuries, and the highest quality Moldovan wines, which are produced in this area. As a result of stone mining, several hundred kilometers of tunnels remained under the village. The humidity in the tunnels is between 85 and 90 percent, and the temperature is between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius, which makes the tunnels an ideal place to store wine. This lead to the creation of the largest wine cellar in the world, 55 kilometers long.
