Terjit
If you want to discover what the oasis is, or any other form of a body of water surrounded by miles of desert, usually overgrown with a narrow belt of vegetation, go to Terjit, some 40 kilometers south of Atar. Two springs, one thermal, the other a source of a cold freshwater combine, and form a natural pool in which the water temperature is perfect for swimming. The scenography is complemented by red rocks that stand over the oasis, and art sculptures in stone, arranged in the surroundings.
