The most lavish mosque in Malaysia is the Masjid Ubudiah or Ubudiah Royal Mosque. Built-in the second decade of the 20th century, this mosque is the landmark and pride of the city of Kuala Kangsar, in the state of Perak, in the northwestern part of mainland Malaysia. Ubudiah Royal Mosque was built next to the Royal Mausoleum on Jalan Istana at Bukit Chandan, and the city is worth a visit to Iskandariah Palace, the Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery, and the Perak National Museum.
