Batu Caves

The Batu Caves are a system of limestone caves 13 kilometers north of the center of Kuala Lumpur. What makes these caves attractive is the Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, located in the cave. You will certainly not miss the approach to the cave - the monumental gilded statue of Lord Kartikeya stands at the beginning of the staircase that leads from 272 steps to the temple. Many visitors claim that this is the most beautiful Hindu temple outside of India. The entrance to the Temple Cave is free of charge, while the entrance fee is paid in other caves. If you have any strength left after the stairs, be sure to visit the Ramayana Cave, Art Galery Cave, and Museum Cave.
