Located in the Western Indian state of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer is a World Heritage Site. The place is famous for the Jaisalmer fort which contains a royal palace and various Jain temples. The peculiarity of the place is that it is located in the ridge of yellow sandstone. Hence this, most of the houses in the region are constructed out of finely sculpted sandstone. The place is also famous for its leather bags made from the camel. Jaisalmer is connected to the rest of the places in North India by rail which goes via Jaipur station.
