Golden Temple
The Golden Temple situated in the Western Indian state of Punjab is the most important pilgrim site of the Sikhs. Its name comes from the fact that the temple is covered by golden foil in its sanctum. Though it is a holy place of worship, the temple allows people of all faith inside. Foreigners visiting the temple have a special dormitory where they can spend day and night. The Golden Temple can be accessed by rail, road, and air. The airport is just 12 km away from this holy place.
