Acropolis of Quirigua

The Acropolis of Quirigua is the archaeological site of the Mayan civilization located in eastern Guatemala. Stone tombstones decorated with ornaments and hieroglyphs were found here, some of them are more than 10 meters high. According to the inscriptions on the stelae, but also according to the splendor of this necropolis, the rulers of Quirigua were buried here.
