Blue Nile Falls is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Ethiopia. The locals call it Tis Abay which means Big Smoke. The height of the waterfall is between 37 and 45 meters. In 2003, a hydroelectric power plant was built here, on which the splendor of the waterfall largely depends, so be sure to inquire about the condition of the waterfall before visiting. If the water level is normal or high, waterfalls are an unforgettable experience.
