The Bale Mountains are located in the central part of Ethiopia and include the second highest mountain peak in Ethiopia - Tullu Demtu (4307 meters). The mountain area also includes the Bale Mountains National Park, which is home to many endemic species, many of which are endangered. There is also Harenna Forest, which is mostly unexplored and it is assumed that lions, leopards, and many undiscovered species of reptiles live in it.
