Stonehenge

Possibly one of the most famous ancient sites in England and Europe's best-known prehistoric monument, Stonehenge and its surroundings were added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. Exhibitions at the visitor center explain how the megaliths were erected between 3000 and 1500 BC. It is a very popular visiting spot, so make sure to get there early in the morning.
