Ingapirca Ruinas
One of the jewels of Ecuador is the legacy of the mysterious and advanced Inca civilization. Ingapirca Ruinas is part of that heritage. This site proves that the Incas lived here with other people - the Cañari, who had a kind of autonomy over the more numerous Incas. It is an archeological site in the central part of the continental part of the country. The most famous part of the archeological complex is the Temple of the Sun, but the complex includes the entire fortification of an elliptical shape built on a huge rock.
