Santa Lucía Hill

15 million years ago, Cerro Santa Lucía on Santa Lucía Hill was a volcano, and now it is a small park in the center of Santiago. The snow-capped peaks of the Andes can be seen from this hill, which gives the view of the city from the lookout point another special note of romance. Fortifications were built on the north and south sides of the hill, and since 1852, the National Astronomical Observatory has been located here. Visitors and locals love to spend the afternoon in this peaceful park in the heart of the bustling capital city.
