The Westernmost island of Cape Verde, Santo Antão is the second-largest and fourth most populated island of Cape Verde archipelago. The characteristic of this island is that even just over 40 kilometers long and 24 kilometers wide, it has two climate areas. The southern part has a desert climate, while the elevated northern part has a semi-arid climate. Ribeira del Torre as the main attraction point is located in the north part of the island with its source in Park of Nature Cova, a UNESCO protected area.
