Pico de Fogo

Pico de Fogo is the highest peak of Cape Verde and all West Africa. This volcanic cone is 2829 meters high and is one of the symbols of the archipelago. It is included in the country's coat of arms. The volcano is active and the last eruption was in 2014-2015 when it destroyed a big part of Chã das Caldeiras community, luckily with no human victims.
