Groot Begijnhof is a restored historical quarter and a part of the city of Leuven. This quarter is one of the largest remaining beguinages in the Low Countries. It stretches on both sides of the river Dijle and two canals with an island in the middle, used as a campus by the University of Leuven. Groot Begijnhof or Great Beguinage of Leuven is the UNESCO World Heritage site since 1998.
