National Martyrs Memorial

The biggest event of the modern history of Bangladesh was the war in 1971, which brought independence and separated Bangladesh from Pakistan. National Martyrs Memorial park is a national monument build in honor of the millions of unknown martyrs who gave their lives in the war for independence. Its construction lasted from 1978 to 1982 in Savar, 35 kilometers north-west from Dhaka. This monument is part of the 108-acre complex and is designed by architect Moinul Hossain.
